Thomas J. Flanagan II

age 64, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Carol M. (DelConte) Flanagan for 39 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Eva T. (George) Flanagan.

Tom was a 1975 graduate of LaSalle Academy. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration both from Providence College. As an undergraduate, Tom worked part time at Rhode Island Hospital Trust. After graduation he served in various capacities as a commercial lender. He was recruited by Fleet Bank in 1991 where his career flourished in commercial loan workout and restructuring. In his most recent position, Tom served as a Senior Vice President and Regional Executive for Bank of America covering the eastern United States and Canada. A born leader, Tom’s integrity and professionalism, coupled with his keen sense of humor, earned him respect and admiration from his colleagues.

Tom was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Alpine Country Club in Cranston where he held several positions on the Board of Directors. With his welcoming personality, Tom was described as the epitome of a brother and a friend to all club members and was the first to assist whenever needed. Known as a great storyteller, Tom was full of life, a true gentleman, and the kind of person everyone knew and loved.

Tom was very proud of his Irish heritage and was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He was also a member of the Renaissance-Alliance Lodge #1966-Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America.

Besides his wife, Tom leaves his beloved son, Kyle T. Flanagan; his sister, Providence Councilwoman Jo-Ann (Flanagan) Ryan and husband Thomas J. Ryan, Esq. of Providence; his mother-in-law Yolanda DelConte and the late Michael DelConte of North Providence; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Linda and Paul Dionne of North Scituate and Donna and Stephen Brodeur of Coventry; and nieces and nephews Brendan Flanagan Ryan, Esq.,  Megan Ryan Lynch and husband Kyle J. Lynch, Esq., Michael and Joseph Dionne, Gianna Albanese, Nicholas and Ryan Brodeur, and great niece Olivia Dionne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Entombment will be in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Friday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.
