Rafael A. Carrasco 79, of Providence, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 30, 1943 in the Dominican Republic, a son of the late Pedro and Emilia (Abreu) Carrasco.  Rafael was a police officer in the Dominican Republic, before relocating his family to the United States.

Rafael worked in the Providence jewelry business for many years, including several years at Monet, before his retirement.

Rafael married his wife Mericelda Carrasco in the Dominican Republic and enjoyed 55 loving years of marriage, prior to her passing in 2020.

Rafael enjoyed traveling, working on home renovations, spending time with his family and taking his beloved dog Rocky for car rides. He loved baseball and was a true Red Sox fan.

Rafael will be sadly missed by his four daughters,  Luchy Carrasco of Providence, Evelyn Rosa and husband Jose of Florida, Elizabeth Carrasco of Connecticut and Giselle Gallo and husband John of Warwick. Grandchildren - Alex Hernandez, Amanda Rosa-Giova, Jeffrey Rosa and Gian Gallo. Rafael also leaves behind his sister Lucia Margarita Carrasco, and his brother Fausto Carrasco and Victor Carrasco.

Family and friends will be received during visiting Hours Sunday June 25th, 2023 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Nardolillo Funeral Home, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.

His funeral will be held on Monday June 26th, 2023 at 9:00am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home , 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
