94, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Paolo and Euleria (Ciccone) Pezza. Joseph was US Army World War II Veteran.
Joseph was a URI graduate before starting his career as a self-employed electrical engineer. He then went on to become the Director of DPW for the City of Cranston and later the Director of DOT for the State of RI, and later worked at the US Naval Station Newport. He was also a member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society and Tabor Franchi Post 2396.
He is survived by his loving sons, Francis J. Pezza, Peter P. Pezza, Richard J. Pezza and his wife Barbara, Gregory C. Pezza and his wife Kelly, Mark A. Pezza, and the late Steven E. Pezza; dear brother Michael Pezza, and the late August Pezza, Mary Simone, and Eleanor Livoli; twelve cherished grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday from 5:00 – 9:00 pm.
