John R. Pesce

57, of Lincoln, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marissa Caprio Pesce and loving father to their children John R. “John-John” Pesce III, Cristina and Francesca Pesce.

John’s young children were the love of his life and his number one priority. John loved spending time with his family. He and his son John recently returned from their fourth consecutive Super Bowl trip where they cheered for the Patriots. John enjoyed family skiing trips in the winter and boating on Narragansett Bay - Block Island in the summer. He cherished his time as a volunteer of John’s football team with Christina and Francesca as part of the cheerleading squad. He left many lasting memories with his beautiful family.

John was born in Providence, the only child of the late J. Robert and Catherine A. (Verado) Pesce. He grew up in Barrington and attended Providence Country Day School and graduated from Barrington High School in 1978. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Rhode Island and earned a Murphy Fellowship in Structural Engineering from Northwestern University. John was active in the management of many businesses. He was President of Coast Realty, a successful regional commercial real estate development and management company, founded by his father in 1969. He joined George Pesce, his uncle, as a Vice President of Consolidated Concrete, which was founded in 1957. John was a Commissioner on the East Providence Waterfront Commission for over 15 years. He was a member of The American Society of Civil Engineers, American Concrete Institute, American Institute of Steel Construction, Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, Building Owners and Managers Association, Rhode Island Builders Association and the Legislative Committee, International Council of Shopping Centers, Kirkbrae Country Club, University Club of Providence, and the Aurora Civic Association.

In addition to his wife and children, he leaves his late father’s wife, Elizabeth Pesce, and her children Jennifer Frank and Alicia von Rekowsky; his dear uncle George A. Pesce and his wife Lori (Moschetti); his aunts Rita Verardo, Norma Hartley and the late Georgia A. Luft; and his in-laws Joyce and Judge Frank Caprio. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston will be held on Monday February 26th, at 9:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. VISITING HOURS will be held on Sunday February 25th from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI 02904.
