83, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sulmona, Italy she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Maria (Imperatore) Bertoldi. In 1957, at the age of 18, she migrated to the United States. Two years later she married the love of her life, Sante Marinucci, spending the last 63 years together.
Francesca worked for Sodexo for many years before retiring.
She was a beautiful woman with the biggest heart. She was patient, kind, caring, and a friend to so many. You were blessed if you were able to know her.
One of her greatest passions was cooking; famous for making tasty pizza, the best bread, and delicious cookies. Family and friends always counted on her to excite their appetite with those delicious items. Francesca also loved to travel. Some of her favorite destinations were Australia, Hawaii, Portugal, Italy, and numerous cruises. Anywhere you wanted to go, she would go.
Francesca’s deep faith and devotion to her family were the most significant trademarks of her life. She was a devoted Catholic and communicant of St. Mark Church. A proud member of the Santa Maria DiPrata Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed being part of the bocce team and festival committee for over 35 years.
As matriarch of the family, she was the devoted mother of Anna DiSano (David), Sandra Santagata (John), Steven Marinucci (Melissa Coppa), and the late Sandra F. Marinucci. She was the proud Nonna of her six grandchildren: David, Antonio, and Angelo DiSano, Gianni and Nico Santagata, and Luca Marinucci; great grandmother of Adriana DiSano.
She is survived by her dear brother, Pasquale Bertoldi, and she is the sister of the late Ida Balassone, Giovanna Amori and Francesco Bertoldi.
Her funeral will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Street, Cranston. Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Saints Peter & Paul Mausoleum. VISITING HOURS Thursday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 249 Roosevelt Ave., Suite 201, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
