Ferdinand J. Valerio

of Cranston, passed away on the 15thof December, 2016. Born in Providence, RI. Fred was the son of the late Giuseppe and Anna (Caruolo) Valerio, brother of the late Lena Manni, and Uncle of the late Angelo Manni Jr.  Fred served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.  Alumnus of Rhode Island College and a teacher at Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln, RI. Fred was a life member of the Smithfield Sportsman’s Club and the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, fly tying, target shooting, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his former devoted wife of 22 years Alice Valerio and their children, Steven Valerio, Lisa Valerio, and Patricia J. Knowles and cherished grandfather of Jessica, Matthew, Stephanie, and Rachel.  He also leaves behind his current beloved Rosemarie Izzo of 28 years, and her children Sharon and Anthony.  Fred was also the great uncle of Angelo and Michael Manni. We all miss you and hold our memories of you in our hearts until we meet again.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his Christian Funeral Mass followed by Military Funeral Honors at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, corner of Hartford Avenue and King Philip Street, Providence, RI on Friday, January 6th at 10:30 a.m. The burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made In Memory of Fred Valerio to The Providence Center, Providence, RI by phone 401-528-0123 or securely online at https://provctr.ejoinme.org/MyPages/DonationPage/tabid/49280/Default.aspx
