of Johnston, passed away on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. He was the beloved husband of the late Victoria (Calitri) LaFazia. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Frank and Bernadette (Vastano) LaFazia. Ernie worked for Dean Columns for 55 years & Interlex at the Main Post office for 15 years. He was a member of the Cranston Fish & Game Association since 1969, and was the first member to celebrate his 100th Birthday. He enjoyed his family, bowling, archery, deer hunting, and was a private pilot since 1946. He also loved to play the harmonica and accordion for his grandchildren.
He was the devoted father of Eugene LaFazia and his wife Claudia of Fullerton, South Carolina, Ernest A. LaFazia and his wife Brenda and Shirley Scarduzio and her husband Michael both of Johnston; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Lucy Antoscia of Florida, Frank LaFazia of Warwick, William LaFazia of Florida and the late Rose LaFazia, Mary Arrico, Flore LaFazia, Ethel Brisson, Joseph LaFazia, and Albert LaFazia.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Saturday Morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Robert’s Food Shelf 1804 Atwood Ave. Johnston, RI 02919.
