Emilia (DeSimone) Manzo

87, of Narragansett, formerly of 41 Vervena Street, Cranston, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Amedeo Manzo. Born in Itri, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Noe and Angela (Ruggieri) DeSimone. Mrs. Manzo was an assembler for North Safety Company for many years until her retirement. Emilia always loved being surrounded by family and friends and was the beloved Nonna to all who knew her.

She is survived by her two loving children, Guido Manzo of Tucson, AZ, and Anna Pereira and her husband Rui of Narragansett. Emilia was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Pereira and his girlfriend Jessica, Monica Wojtyna, her husband Brian and Madison Manzo.  She was the step great-grandmother to Brian, Kaitlyn and Lucas. Emilia was the sister of Rita Carnevale, her husband Domenico of Cranston and the late Giuseppe DeSimone. She was also the beloved Zia to all her nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Entombment will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000-Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
