75, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Kent Hospital in Warwick with his family by his side. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Rossi) Izzo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas and Fiorenza (Ranucci) Izzo.

Andy was a dedicated member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, having joined Local Union 271 on December 27, 1983. Throughout his career he worked as a journeyman and foreman and also served as a steward, auditor and a delegate for Local Union 271. Andy most recently worked for the Laborers’ New England Region Organizing Fund. Andy loved his union and would talk about it daily. He had special loyalty to Arthur E. Coia, Arthur A. Coia and Armand E. Sabitoni. The loyalty that Andy had was not only loyalty but a special friendship. His loyalty and friendship was also transcended to his brothers and sisters of the union. Andy was loved and respected by all who knew him.

Besides his wife, he was the beloved father of Donald Izzo, Florence Izzo, Christine Izzo and her husband David Schiapo and the late Andrea Izzo-Comeau; loving grandfather of Carissa and Ariana Comeau who were the love of his life; and his brother Albert “Pappy” Izzo.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are TUESDAY MORNING from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
