age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Rhode Island Veterans’ Home surrounded by his loving family. Alfred, known fondly by his family and friends as Donald, was born on July 8, 1928 to Vincent and Filomena (Zaccaria) Perrotta in Providence, RI.
Donald served as a Private in the United States Marine Corps after World War II, choosing to join the Corps to face his fear of water, and spending most of his time as a cook embarked on Navy warships. Donald continued serving his country working for over twenty years at the United States Post Office.
Donald was the devoted husband of Anna, his wife of 60 years. Along with Anna, Donald enjoyed spending time visiting his grandchildren, getting coffee and donuts with his friends, gardening, cooking, traveling, and was always there to offer a helping hand.
Besides his beloved wife Anna, Donald is survived by his oldest son Glenn, his wife Patricia, and their three children Jessica, Glenn Jr. and Stephanie, and his youngest son Gregory, his wife Catherine, and their two daughters Rachel and Kathryn.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, 15 George Waterman Rd., Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
