Z. STEPHEN KALARIAN

Z. STEPHEN KALARIAN, 88, of Putnam Pike, Greenville, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center at Home & Hospice Care of RI in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (Traynor Macaruso) Kalarian and the late Zevart "Gladys" (Manoogian) Kalarian. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Stephen and Nevart (Madigian) Kalarian.

He was a Navy Lieutenant and served as a pilot in WWII, stationed in the Pacific on Tinian and Iwojima. He was a graduate of Brown University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was a Plastics Engineer for General Electric and Tupperware. Mr. Kalarian was a real estate broker who along with his wife Catherine owned Camelot Realty for many years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Stephanie and Sherwin Han of Portsmouth and Leigh and Bradford Kendall of Providence, and two stepdaughters and spouses, Mary Jane and William Rainone of Glocester, and Susan and Gualter Lourenco of North Providence, and ten grandchildren whom he loved very much. He also leaves his beloved sister Madeline Kalarian Holbrook and husband Frank of Middletown, RI.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Funeral Service in Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 70 Jefferson St., Providence at 12:30 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at North Burial Ground Cemetery in Providence.
