XAVIER J. BARBIERI

Xavier J. Barbieri 72, of Cranston, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 surrounded by his loving family at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the devoted and loving husband of Antonetta (Leporacci) Barbieri. They were married for forty-three years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph and Elena M. (Palma) Barbieri. Mr. Barbieri was a construction worker for various companies in the Warwick area for many years. He was also employed in the nursing transport department at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital before retiring in 1999. Xavier was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Mr. Barbieri was an US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War era. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. Besides his wife he is survived by his two brothers Joseph Barbieri of Massachusetts and Frank Barbieri of Glocester, RI. Mr. Barbieri was the brother-in-law of Addie and John Bossone of Providence and the devoted son-in-law of the late Pat and Carmella Leporacci. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday morning 9-10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
