Lee was the son of the late John and Phyllis Higgins of Cranston, brother of Michael Higgins of Cranston, sisters Mary Rokosz (Steven), of Merrimac, MA., Ann McDonough (John), of Exeter, Kathleen Conley (Thomas), of Cranston, and Jane Fish (Charles), of Colonial Beach, VA. Brother of the late John Paul Higgins and his late wife Ellen. Lee leaves several nieces and nephews, two great nieces, a great nephew and his late great nephew, John Harry in addition to family and friends.
Lee presently worked at Rossi Electric, Inc. of Cranston and formerly Kenney Manufacturing Company of Warwick.
He was a 1974 graduate of Cranston High School West where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football, as the quarterback. He attended Rhode Island College, where he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
Some of Lee's favorite past times included Pawtucket Red Sox games, fishing, visits to the casino, spending time with family and friends and summertime at Sand Hill Cove. Family and friends were everything to Lee.
Lee was a kind, considerate soul who brought a smile just by entering a room. A gifted storyteller, he could easily captivate a crowd. He was an extremely generous, kindhearted gentleman who impacted the world with his light, laughter and love just by being himself. Lee thrived on making people laugh.
When you had his attention, he made you feel like the most important person in the world. In a word -- Lee cared. He will be deeply missed by anyone who had the honor of knowing him. He had an intense love of the Rhode Island shore and always looked forward to his annual trip to Aruba with his wife, Tina.
Lee was always very protective of his family and friends and he would not have wanted his loved ones to be put at risk at this time due to COVID-19. We will honor our dear Lee with a mass and a celebration of life event at a later date when it is safe.
