William J. Rosa, Sr.

97, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Cedar Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, Cranston. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Santoro) Rosa. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Luisa (Maiola) Rosa.

William was a US Navy Veteran serving in World War II. After his military service, he worked as a printer for many years. After retirement he spent much of his spare time woodworking and wine making, which became his passion. He was also a devoted member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society.

William is survived by his loving children, William J. Rosa, Jr. and his wife Jennifer Aspel, and Susan Pirolli and her husband Michael; cherished grandchildren, Katherine Frederick (Jeffrey), Michael Pirolli (Lauren), Nicholas Pirolli (Krystal), and Peter Pirolli (Natalie); great-grandchildren, Sophia & Jackson Frederick, Lucas, Nicholas, Damon and Amelia Pirolli. He was the dear brother of Mary L. Rosa and the late Eleanor LaRocca and Luigi Rosa.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday, December 6th at 10:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Rocco’s Church, Johnston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
