a devoted family man and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 16, 1943, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Raymond and Rita (Bowen) Reilly.
William dedicated 35 years of his life as a photo engraver for Quebecor Printing, a role that showcased his attention to detail and work ethic. Following the closure of Quebecor, he transitioned to Stop & Shop in Cranston, where he served in the deli department until his well-deserved retirement.
A proud veteran, William served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. His commitment to service shaped not only his character but also his interactions with those around him, as he was known for his kindness and generosity.
In his leisure time, William enjoyed being an avid golfer and bowler. He cherished his moments spent at the beach, finding solace and joy in the simplicity of nature. William was also a communicant of St. Mark Church, where his faith guided him throughout his life.
William is survived by his beloved spouse, Patricia N. (DeLellis) Reilly, with whom he shared a loving marriage for 56 wonderful years. He is also survived by his son, Richard W. Reilly, and daughter-in-law Kerry of Johnston; his granddaughters, Victoria Reilly and Marissa Reilly; and by his brother Robert Reilly and sister-in-law Barbara of Florida. Additionally, he leaves behind his sister Eleanor Jordan of Florida, sister-in-law Joyce Reilly, brother-in-law Greg Church, and many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was predeceased by his father Raymond Reilly, Sr., his mother Rita (Bowen) Reilly, brother Raymond Reilly, Jr., sister Marie Church, and brother-in-law James Jordan.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mark Church, 15 Garden Court, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. VISITING HOURS Tuesday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
