WILLIAM LAWRENCE LaBONTE

William L. LaBonte, 92, of Boca Raton, Florida, died March 19, 2009. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Howell). They had been married 46 years. He was also the husband of the late Arlene (Beauchesne). Born in Rhode Island, Bill lived in Warwick and Coventry until he retired to Florida thirty years ago. He is survived by daughter Karen Beauchesne and grandson Alexander Broadhead of Narragansett, son William of Florida, daughter-in-law Beatrice Hawkins and grandchildren, USAF 2LT Allan, Hillary, and Anna LaBonte of Maryland. He was the father of the late Barry LaBonte. Mr. LaBonte was a veteran of the 8th Air Force in WWII and received many commendations completing 30 missions over Europe as a bombardier. He also served in Korea. He retired as a Major from the RI Air National Guard. During their retirement years, Bill and Evelyn traveled extensively. They were active members in many organizations including the Masons, VFW, Pompano Beach BPOE, and the Royal Palm condo association in Boca Raton. Funeral services and internment with full military honors will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery.
