William "Bill" Kyriakakis
64, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Dr. Phillips Hospital in Orlando, Florida. He was the beloved husband of Carole (Notarangelo) Kyriakakis. They were married 41 years. Bill was born in Providence, RI a son of the late Theodore and Mildred (Alexion) Kyriakakis. Bill and Carole raised their family in Swampscott, MA where they resided for 22 years before moving to Orlando in 2001.
He attended Pilgrim High School, Roger Williams University and was also in US Army Reserves. Bill was employed as Deputy Director (1978-1984) & Executive Director (1984-1992) of Office of Economic Development in Lynn Massachusetts. (1995 - 2001) He was the Senior Lending Officer of Economic Stabilization Trust for Commonwealth Corporation in Massachusetts. (2002 - 2004) He was the Director of Business Recruitment for the Department of Economic Development in Volusia County, FL. (2004 - 2011) He was the Commercial/Industrial Development Manager for the Office of Economic Development in Broward County, FL. Bill was the Former Vice President of Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce, Former Vice President of Lynn Community Health Center, Former member of Board of Directors of Tri-City Mental Health Association, Former Lions Club Member, Former Member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn Massachusetts. He enjoyed spending time with family, swimming, and traveling.
Besides his loving wife Carole, he is survived by his Daughters, Jessica & Jennifer Kyriakakis, Mother in law, Josephine Murray, Brother, The Honorable Manuel Kyriakakis and his wife Elaine, Brother, Spiro Kyriakakis and his wife Glenna, Sister, Priscilla Delis and her husband Alan, Sister in law, Sophia Kyriakakis, many loving aunts,uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Rev. James Kyriakakis and son-in-law of the late Robert Murray.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 175 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, RI. Burial will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, RI. VISITING HOURS: Tuesday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider supporting the Dr. Phillips Hospital Cancer Program.
