WILLIAM H. KELLEY

82, of Narragansett, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at South Bay Manor in South Kingstown. He was the beloved husband of Margaret "Peg" (Brady) Kelley. They were married 58 years. He was born in Providence, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Smith) Kelley. Mr. Kelley was the Director of External Affairs for New England Telephone until his retirement in 1989. William was a graduate of LaSalle Academy Class of 1947, Providence College Class of 1951 Cum Laude and was also a US Army Korean War veteran. William and his wife were honored by Bishop Gelineau in 1990 for being appointed the 1st husband and wife to Co-Chair the Catholic Charity Fund Appeal. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the Irish Kings, Greenview Cove and Wellington Country Clubs in Wellington, FL, Knights of Columbus, McVinney Council, Prov., a member and served on the board at RI Blue Cross, a past member and chairman of AAA of RI, a member and Past President of the Providence Rotary Club and was a member and served on the Board of Governors of the Point Judith Country Club.

Besides his beloved wife Peg, he is survived by his loving daughters, Mary Kelley Gannon and her husband Michael of MD, Margaret A. Gloria of Wakefield, RI and Maureen E. Kelley and her husband Brian Mitchell of CO. He was also the cherished grandfather of Michael, Stephanie and Patrick Forenza and Nicholas and Joseph Gloria and was the brother of the late Elizabeth Kelley Gammino. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett. Burial with military honors will take place in RI Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Catholic Charity Appeal, One Cathedral Square, Providence, RI 02903.
