William E. Cicchelli

99, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Village House in Newport, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Donata (Rignanese) Cicchelli. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ovidio and Celeste (Basso) Cicchelli. He was the dear brother Remo Cicchelli and the late Joseph Cicchelli.

He was a US Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient serving in World War II. He then went on to work as a machinist and toolmaker for many years for the US Government at Quonset and Newport Naval Bases before retiring.

William is survived by his loving children, William Cicchelli and his wife Diane of Saunderstown, Carol Ellsworth and her husband Leonard of Danielson, CT, and Dr. Robert Cicchelli and his wife Terri of Middletown; cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Kenneth, Steven, Brian, Kevin, Jack, Jared and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Reese, Nathan, Lila and Benjamin.

His funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Friday at 11:00 am. VISITING HOURS will precede his funeral service from 9:30 – 11:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Kindly omit flowers.
