William M. Cappelli

of Morgan Ave., Johnston, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. He was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Alice A. (DeSantis) Cappelli.  Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Angelo and Elizabeth (LaBanca) Cappelli.

Mr. Cappelli was a foreman and tool maker at Uncas Mfg. Co. for many years and was a WW-II U.S. Navy veteran serving for 3 years and was the recipient of a Bronze Star and WW-II Victory Medal.

He was the beloved and devoted father of Elinor Cappelli of Johnston and Tracy Conti and her former husband, his son-in-law Stephen Conti, both of Cranston; beloved and devoted father of his two sons, the late William and Michael Cappelli; cherished and loving Papa of Arianna Conti the pride and joy of his life; and dear brother of Joseph Cappelli of Johnston, Angelo Cappelli of Darien, CT and the late John and Albert Cappelli.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 26th at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 931 Atwood Ave., Johnston (seating will be limited, social distancing and masks required). Burial with military honors at St. Ann Cemetery will be private.  VISITING HOURS are Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
