William A. Calise 76, of Fairmount Avenue, Johnston died Friday, August 8, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Dorothy F. (Lutz) Calise. Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Joseph and Santa (Mazzone) Calise. Mr. Calise was a self-employed constable for over forty years until his retirement in 2005 due to illness. He was also the owner of the former Ace Detective Agency, of Providence. He was a member of the FOPA of Providence and a former member of the Providence Police Reserves and the Independent Constables Association. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Paul W. Calise of Providence, William J. Calise, James E. Calise both of Johnston, Michael T. Calise of Chepachet, Jennifer L. Calise of Cranston, Melanie L. Carlone of Rindge, NH and Stephanie L. Calise of Cranston. Mr. Calise was the father of the late Diane F. Calise. He was the cherished grandfather of twelve. Mr. Calise was the brother of Anthony Macaruso of Johnston, Rocco Calise of Providence, Gilbert Calise of North Providence, Robert Calise of Johnston, Albert Calise of Cranston, Barbara O'Neill of Seabrook, NH and the late Marie Toppi Madirira, Minnie and Rosalina Calise. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278, Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
