WILLIAM JOHN BROGNO, entered into eternal life after a lengthy battle with Renal Disease and Leukemia on April 3, 2012.
A member of the "greatest generation", Bill served proudly in the Navy during WW-II aboard the USS Denver in the Pacific.
He was last employed for the Rhode Island Air National Guard security police at Quonset Point. He also worked as a manager for Karl Shoes and Spina Shoes.
During life Bill enjoyed boating, camping, walks on the beach and above all," family" because nothing else was more importmant. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, singing "Sinatra" and being the best "Pop" ever.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Elaine (Delfino) Brogno, his much loved children; William S. Brogno and his partner Betty of CT, Salvatore Brogno and his wife Maria of Cranston, John Brogno of Florida, Kendra B. Ulmschneider and her husband William of South Kingstown, Todd W. Brogno of Florida, Shayne V. Brogno, of South Kingstown, and Jarrett G. Brogno and his wife Monique of Richmond; fourteen cherished grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; dear brother of Teresa Lepore of West Warwick and Grace Berkowitz of Cranston.
He was the son of the late Salvatore and Santina (Capalbo) Brogno.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory- SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A) Narragansett, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St. Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting Hours are Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
