WESLEY G. MEEHAN, JR

78, of Wampum Road, Narragansett, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the husband of Polly J. (Miller) Meehan. They were married for fifty years. Born in Norwalk, CT he was a son of the late Wesley G. and Alice (Swan) Meehan, Sr. and the step-son of the late Margaret (Gould) Meehan. Mr. Meehan was the owner of the former M&M Engineering Company for forty-five years before retiring in 2005.He was a Korean and Vietnam War veteran serving twenty years in the US Navy, Construction Battalion. Mr. Meehan enjoyed attending antique truck and car shows. He was also a jazz and big band enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Wesley was a friend to everyone. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Karen Lee Parascandolo and her husband Robert of Johnston and Donna L. DiMaggio and her husband Frank of Huntersville, NC. Mr. Meehan was the grandfather of Leah S. Afdasta, David J. and Nicholas F. DiMaggio. He was the brother of Marjorie Mead of Zephyr Hills, FL and the late Clifford Meehan. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. in the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt.1A) Narragansett. Burial will be private.
