Wayne Anthony Gambuto, 72, of Pawtucket passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Carmela (Geremia) Gambuto. He was the beloved husband of Irit Gambuto for 37 years, and loving father to Sabrina Gambuto O’Shea.
Wayne worked in the cold food storage industry for many years. He then went on to become the owner and operator of Wisco Cab Inc., based in Boston. He was an awesome cook that was known for his love of feeding and entertaining his family and friends. His great sense of humor brought happiness and laughter to those who knew him. Above all else he was always dependable, fiercely loyal, compassionate, and kind. He loved to tell colorful stories from the past and enjoyed watching Western’s on his favorite station MeTV. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa, and simply the best Papa.
Besides his wife he leaves his cherished daughter and her husband Andrew, and his beloved grandson Salem Anthony, of Pawtucket. He also leaves his brother David and his wife Kathleen (Guarino) Gambuto, of Cranston. He was the uncle of Amanda Gambuto and Lora (Gambuto) Broccoli, her husband Dante, and grand-uncle of Carmela and Francesca Broccoli.
Friends and relatives may attend VISITING HOURS on Monday June 3, 2024, at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
