WALTER J. WALLACE, JR

87, of Narragansett passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Roberts Nursing Home, North Kingstown. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Gillen) Wallace. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Walter J. and Alice (McKeon) Wallace, Sr. Walter was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II. He was a machinist at General Dynamics in Groton, CT for twenty-six years before retiring in 1989.

He is survived by his loving children, Margie M. Wallace of Narragansett, John W. Wallace and his wife Connie of Deland, FL, and Michael J. Wallace of Narragansett. Walter was the father of the late James T. Wallace. He was the cherished grandfather of Joy, Evan, Amber, Peter, Madeleine and Olivia Wallace. Walter was the brother of Alice "Sis" Sutrynowicz of Glenolden, PA and the late Elizabeth "Dolly" Roessler.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
