Vittorio A. Ricci

Vittorio A. Ricci, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 6, 1930, in Providence, RI, Vittorio spent his formative years in Italy, where he developed a deep appreciation for life and the bonds of family. He returned to his birthplace in Rhode Island at the age of 20, but he then returned to Italy to find his bride, Evelina (Cercone) Ricci, who would become his partner in life until her passing. Together, they created a family that would carry on his legacy, and Vittorio took great pride in the home he personally built for them—a sanctuary filled with laughter, love, and memories.

As a self-employed stone mason and concrete contractor, Vittorio specialized in meticulous residential work that showcased his craftsmanship and attention to detail. His hands shaped not only the materials he worked with; they also shaped the lives of his family. He was not just a builder of homes, but a builder of dreams, instilling values of dedication and perseverance in those around him.

Vittorio was deeply involved in his community, proudly serving as a founding member of Holy Apostles Church and the Santa Maria Di Prata Society, where he held the roles of past president and financial secretary. His commitment to faith and culture only added depth to the rich tapestry of his life.

Among his many passions, Vittorio cherished bocce, card playing, and dancing, but above all, he took immense pride in his garden, where watermelons and fennel flourished under his careful nurturing. Family dinners and holiday gatherings were rituals that brought joy to his heart; these moments were treasures he gathered throughout his life. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, representing the continuation of his legacy and the love he had cultivated over the decades.

He is survived by his son Nicola P. Ricci; his son Antonio V. Ricci and his wife Cheryl; and his daughter Amalia DeAngelis. Vittorio leaves behind a loving legacy of grandchildren: Christina Ricci, Vittorio Ricci, Victoria Ricci, Marina DeAngelis, Anastasia DeAngelis, and great-granddaughters Ariella Guglielmetti and Alianna Davilla.

Vittorio is lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him, including his siblings, the late Liberata Lanni, Iolanda Cardarelli, and Gloria Passarella, and his parents, the late Nicola and Amalia (Parisi) Ricci. Each of these relationships has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he held dear.
