Virginia “Ginny” Bunn, 85, of Cranston passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday April 5, 2022, with her family by her side. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Margaret (Magera) Manzi. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Bunn, Jr. for 49 years before his passing in 2005.
Ginny had many accomplishments throughout her life, that started as early as middle school. She was the first female class president of Hugh B. Bain Middle School, she then attended Cranston East High School, graduating Class of 1955. Ginny was a proud alumnus of Cranston East and coordinated the class reunions every 5 years. She then attended Costins Warwick Academy of Beauty Culture and was a hairdresser for 30 years until her retirement in 2001. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of SS. Peter and Paul Church in West Warwick. She was a member of the Rosary and the Altar Guild and was active in many church activities, most notably the beautiful raffle basket display at the Christmas Bazaars. She was an accomplished Reiki Master Teacher and owner of the former Path to Wellness Reiki Studio in West Warwick until 2010. Ginny and her late husband Ed were members of the Providence/Cranston Elks Lodge #14 he was an Exalted Ruler and she was a member of the Emblem.
She was the loving mother of Edward “Ted” J. Bunn, III and his wife Sharon of Cranston, Lianne Themuda of Johnston, and Karen Arel and her husband Ronald of West Warwick. She was the beloved grandmother of Ronald Arel, Jr. and his fiancé Chelsea Carbone, Victoria Themuda and her fiancé Philip Barber, Alicia Themuda, and Anthony Arel and his girlfriend Annina Caniff. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great grandchild Madelyn, who’s expected arrival is any day. She was the sister of Theresa Parrillo and her late husband Vito, and Salvatore Manzi and his wife Ann.
Her funeral will leave at 10:00 am Monday April 11, 2022, from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 48 Highland Street, West Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Warwick Angels, 112 Harding Street, West Warwick, RI 02893.
