VIRGINIA (CARPINATTA) D'AMBRA

Virginia (Carpinatta) D'Ambra 96, of Rutherglen Avenue, Providence, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of the late Nicholas D'Ambra. Born in New Bedford, MA, she was a daughter of the late Liberato and Francesca (Sulipode) Carpinatta. Mrs. D'Ambra was a foot press operator for the former Clark and Coombs Jewelry Manufacturing Company of Providence for twenty years until her retirement in 1964. Virginia enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family at the holidays. She also enjoyed photography. Mrs. D'Ambra was the devoted mother of Ralph D'Ambra of Johnston, Richard D'Ambra, Diane D'Ambra and Deborah D'Ambra all of Providence. She was the cherished grandmother of Francesca, Karen, Richard and Christine D'Ambra and the great-grandmother of six. Virginia was the sister of the late Grace Lantini, Jeanette D'Ambrosia, Christopher Dell'Aquila and Peter D'Ambrosia. She was the mother-in-law of the late Gloria D'Ambra. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 64 Brayton Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
