VIOLA MARTONE

VIOLA (MARTINO) MARTONE, 82, of Scituate Vista Dr., Cranston, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Steere House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Providence. She was the former wife of the late Anthony A. Martone Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria (Caruso) Martino. Viola was a courageous woman with an invincible will to live; she was a cancer survivor many times in her life. Viola was a member and volunteer at the Cranston Senior Center for many years. She was the devoted mother of Pat Lupo of Johnston, Sandra Rondina of Middletown, Marie Martone of Wickford, Bernice Mignanelli of North Scituate, Diane DiNobile and Antoinette Lamontagne both of Johnston, Veronica Napolitano of Hopkinton, and the late Wendy Smith and Anthony A. Martone Jr. She was the grandmother of sixteen and the great-grandmother of four. Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
