86, of Providence, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn A. (McLay) DeVito. They were married for sixty-five years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Guistina (Tortolano) DeVito. Mr. DeVito was a supervisor for the former US Rubber Company of Providence for thirty-five years before retiring in 1973. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II. Vincent was a member of Union Local # 66 and served on the executive board for twenty years. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Carolyn A. Wall and her husband Walter of Pawtucket, Justina M. Hooper of Coventry, Maryann K. Shiel of Cranston, Anthony V. DeVito of North Providence, Vincent J. DeVito, II and his wife Judith of Warwick, and William V. DeVito of Providence. He was the cherished grandfather of fourteen and the great-grandfather of fifteen. Vincent was the brother of Rose Scienzo of Cranston and the late Jennie Cacchiotti, Carmen Pilozzi, Anne DeSimone, and Gerald DeVito. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight Street, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
