VINCENT "VINNY" SARDELLI

VINCENT "VINNY" SARDELLI

87, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Providence. Vincent was the beloved husband of Julia (Geremia) Sardelli for 60 years. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Louis and Patricia (Cantone) Sardelli. Mr. Sardelli was a WWII Army Veteran who also served in the 9th Airforce as a tail gunner and was stationed in countries such as England, France and Belgium. Vincent was a graduate of Providence College in 1948, earned an M.B.A from the University of Rhode Island, was an accomplished violin and guitar musician, an avid stamp collector or philatelist, and most importantly was a loving and dedicated family man. Mr. Sardelli started a career in defense mapping services as a Cartographer and was employed for the U.S. Treasury Department as a Federal Bank Examiner.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Louis A. Sardelli and his wife Elizabeth of East Greenwich, Julie A. Sardelli of Providence, Robert M. Sardelli of Gaithersburg, MD, John V. Sardelli and his wife Anahid of North Kingstown. Vinny was the cherished grandfather of Sam and Amara Sardelli. He was the brother of Maragaret Sardelli of Cranston.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew's Church, Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be held in R.I. Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS: Sunday 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Renovation Fund, 1300 Elmwood Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
