of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021. He was the beloved husband for 59 years of Elvira J. (Scolardi) Fleming. Born in Hyde Park, MA, he was the son of the late Earl and Bertha (Finingham) Fleming and resided in the Knightsville section of Cranston since 1967.
Vincent had a very accomplished career in the culinary arts field spanning over 40 years beginning in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was an executive chef at the Sheraton Biltmore Hotel in Providence, RI Country Club in Barrington and for over 25 years at the Boston University Club in Boston. He was Vice President of the RI Professional Chefs Association in 1969.
Vincent was an avid Boston Red Sox, N.E. Patriots and Boston Bruins fan. He and his wife Elvira enjoyed traveling, dancing, dining, going to the beach and casino. He lived life serving others and enjoyed every moment with his family.
Besides his loving wife Elvira, Vincent was the devoted father of Vincent A. Fleming and his wife Darlene of Johnston, and Steven M. Fleming of Northbridge, MA; and cherished grandfather of Nicholas A. Fleming, Briana A. Fleming and Courtney E. Fleming.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 20th at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston, (social distancing and masks required), followed by burial with military honors at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston. VISITING HOURS are Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
