Vilma G. (Geremia) Testa

93, of Saunderstown, previously of Warwick, passed away peacefully from a short illness on Thursday, September 15, 2022 surrounded by her family at

South County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony A. Testa. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (Nardolillo) Geremia. A graduate

of University of Rhode Island, Class of 1951. Vilma was a sister of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.  Vilma was a devoted elementary school teacher in Warwick for over 30 years until her

retirement in 1992.  Vilma was an avid sports fan; she especially loved cheering for her Providence College Friars. She was a season ticket holder for over 35 years. She loved to travel and enjoyed seeing places all over the world and learning about different cultures. Vilma was a loyal member of the Kindred Spirits travel group where she made lifelong memories and friends. She had such a passion for helping people and serving her community. She volunteered at St. Elizabeth’s nursing home in East Greenwich and loved serving all the residents a coffee and a smile.

She was devoted to her faith and loved her family more than anything. Vilma was the ultimate grandmother. She attended every sporting event, graduation, birthday party, and all of the

events in between. She kept her teaching skills up to date after her retirement by helping with homework every night after dinner. Vilma made sure to never miss an episode of her favorite

programs. Especially American Idol or Dancing with the Stars, which she watched every night with her grandkids. She is survived by her three loving daughters and their spouses: Kathy and the late Robert Christy Jr.,Stephanie Testa, and Karen and Jeff Conticello with whom she resided the last nineteen years. Vilma is also survived by her dear brother Louis Geremia, Esq. and his wife

Ellie. She was a loving and cherished Nana of Ashley Baumgardner and her husband Greg,  Amanda Ucci, Anthony Ucci, and Emma Conticello. She also loved her Buster.

Vilma’s family would love to thank the amazing doctors and nurses at South County Hospital who took the best care of her during her stay.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hills Road, North Kingstown.  Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Wednesday 9-10am.
