Viengsamay Vixaysak

of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, affectionately known as Vinny, a devoted father, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, at the age of 71. Throughout his life, he exemplified unwavering dedication to his family and made countless sacrifices that often went unnoticed. 

Born in Savannakhet, Laos on July 10, 1953, Viensamay Vixaysak served courageously alongside American forces during the Secret War before immigrating to the United States in 1980. His experiences instilled in him a deep sense of duty and perseverance, qualities that guided him in his journey to provide a better life for his loved ones. 

Vinny is survived by his wife, Anousone Vixaysak, and stepdaughter, Paeng Leukhamharn. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pranom Khamdaranikone, with whom he shared three beloved daughters: Kham Khamdaranikone (Mounir) and her husband Mourad Mounir of Enfield, Connecticut, along with their child Azedeen Mounir; Dennee Khamdaranikone and her significant partner Shane Cutting of Tilton, New Hampshire, proud parents of Diamond Cutting and Cyrus Cutting; and Bobby Khamdaranikone of Tilton, New Hampshire, whose memory he held dear. 

Vinny was passionate about fishing and found solace in the tranquility of the waters. Whether casting a line in serene lakes or navigating rugged coastal waters, he cherished every moment connecting with nature’s beauty and serenity.

Vinny embodied unwavering love, resilience through hard work, and a selflessness that defined his life’s purpose. His memory will endure through the cherished tales that capture his essence, reflecting his devotion to his family, and the profound and lasting impact he left on all who had the privilege to know him. 

The wake to honor the life of Viengsamay Vixaysak, affectionately known as Vinny, will be held Friday, July 19, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, July 20 at 8 a.m., also at Nardolillo Funeral Home. Viengsamay will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery, located 261 W. Wrentham Road in Cumberland, Rhode Island, where family and friends can gather to remember and celebrate a life well lived.
