64, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 6, 2019 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous, year long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Maria E. (Vartanian) Giannini, to whom he was married for 35 years. A native of Albany, NY, Victor was the son of the late Anthony J. and Gertrude C. (Catone) Giannini. Besides his wife, he also leaves their children Kristiana, Michael and Nicholas Giannini. Victor was the dear brother of Phyllis (Giannini) Scafidi and Joseph Giannini, both of Albany, NY. He was the loving uncle of Marino and Danielle Scafidi, and James, Christopher and Matthew Vartanian. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, James M. Vartanian and mother-in-law Marie Vartanian. Victor was a pharmacist who worked as a medical science liaison for many years, ending his career with Endo Pharmaceuticals. In his spare time Victor enjoyed traveling with his family and their dogs to Lake Luzerne, NY, a cherished place where he spent his childhood summers. He will especially be remembered for his unique sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church, Cranston at 11:30 a.m. VISITING HOURS: Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless.
