94, of Scituate, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Village at Waterman Lake in Greenville. She was the beloved wife of the late John H. Stamp. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Gertrude Ringrose. She was the mother of the late Patricia Stamp and is survived by her daughter Paula (Stamp) and son-in-law Theodore Richard of Scituate. She was the cherished grandmother of Theodore Richard IV and his wife Celeste and great-grandmother of Wade Richard all of Scituate.
She graduated from St. Xavier Academy in 1942 and worked for Bard North Jewelry in Providence as a bookkeeper before she married John Stamp of Stamp’s Farm on Plainfield Pike, Cranston in 1947. Together they ran the poultry farm, vegetable garden and green houses before retiring in 1980.
Versa joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Providence in 1947, after her marriage to John. She was an active member of the Women’s Guild for many years and continued to be a faithful member of the church. She was an avid reader, loved the Boston Red Sox, and enjoyed the Scituate Senior Center for many years. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5th, at 11:00 a.m., in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 445 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI 02907. Her visiting hours and burial are respectfully private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
