Veronica B. (Parsons) Rooney 101, of Cranston passed away September 7, 2009 at the Coventry Health Care and Rehab Center, after a 15 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis R. Rooney, who passed away August 25, 1987, 19 days before their 60th wedding anniversary. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Fredrick and May (Cuff) Parsons. Veronica was a former resident of the Harris House for 26 years, and was a member of their association; participating in all their activities. She enjoyed playing BINGO on Monday nights, and attending Mass every other Monday. Veronica worked for the former Franklin Process Company, as a winder for 30 years. Her last 10 years before retiring she worked for the Rau Fastner Company, and then retired in 1975 at the age of 67. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Miller and her husband Raymond of Coventry, a granddaughter, Diane Dalphonse and her husband Lee, a grandson, Ronald Miller and his wife Lucy. She was also the great grandmother of Brittany Dalphonse, and aunt of Dorothy (Pearl) Lewis. Veronica was the mother of the late, Margaret Hanna, grandmother of the late, Raymond Miller Jr., sister of the late, Sarah Danty, Frances Hopper and Christopher Parsons. We would like to thank everyone at the Coventry Health Care and Rehab Center, and Home and Hospice Care of RI for their loving care and friendship to Veronica. Veronica's funeral will be held on Friday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Ann's Church, Cranston St. Cranston. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River, MA. VISITING HOURS: Friday morning 9-10 am.
