VERNA C. SAMMARTINO (MARTELLINI)
VERNA C. (MARTELLINI) SAMMARTINO, 79, of Bonnet Shores-Narragansett, RI, previously residing in East Greenwich, RI for 22 years, died Tuesday prior to her 80th birthday on April 23rd, 2008 after a brief illness at South County Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Edward, to whom she would have been married to for 57 years on April 24th 2008.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Elvira (Calenda) Martellini.
Verna, along with her husband assisted in the day to day operations of CALART TOWER. She will be missed by her children.
She leaves behind son Edward Jr. and Michelle of Warwick, daughter Paula Ochab and husband Jonathan of Franklin, MA, son Rocco and his wife Lori of Saunderstown, son Thomas and his wife Jennifer of Cranston, son David and his wife Jennifer of Warwick and 12 loving grandchildren all of whom will be left with wonderful memories. She also leaves a brother Michael Martellini and his wife Christine of Narragansett, sisters Delores DeAngelis and late husband Paul of Smithfield and Marie Manfredo and husband Louis of Providence. She was loved dearly by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and weekly dinner gatherings at "NANA AND PAPA'S NEST".
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., East Greenwich.
Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
