of Cranston passed away Friday February 18, 2022 at home. Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Albert and Prudenza (Russo) Norato.
Verna worked for her brother as a hostess at Smith’s Restaurant for many years before retiring. She was a very caring and loving person and was committed to her catholic faith.
She was the devoted mother of Lorelei Flynn, Thomas Cardente and Albert Cardente; loving grandmother of seven and loving great-grandmother of three.
She was the dear sister of Ilene DiMaio, Albert E. Norato and the late Concetta Ronci, Evelyn DeRouin and Alfonso Norato. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her caregiver and dear friend Lizabeth Cardente. Verna was the former wife of the late Domenic “ Jake “ Cardente.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday February 24th at 11 am in St. Mark’s Church, Garden City Cranston.
Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
