94, of Narragansett, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward G. Haslam Sr. Born in South Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Antonette (Mastrostefano) DeLillo. Mrs. Haslam was a psych nurse for the RI VA Hospital for many years before retiring. She also worked for the State of RI for many years. Vennera was a past President of the VFW Woman’s Auxiliary Post 916, past State Commander of Disabled American Veterans, and volunteered at the Narragansett Elementary School, Narragansett and South Kingstown Senior Center and many other places. She was the volunteer of the year in both the late 80s and early 90s. Mrs. Haslam was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
Vennera is survived by her loving children, Rochelle Tremblay and her husband Jerry of Wakefield, and Coleen Hazard of Charlestown. She was predeceased by her son Edward G. Haslam Jr., her brother Francesco DeLillo and her sister Arna Barrie. Vennera was the cherished grandmother of Erica Salvatore and her husband Antonio Jr., Rachel Castro and her husband Hugo of Westerly and several other grandchildren. She was the great grandmother of Aria and Sergio Salvatore, Dominic Castro and many other great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 1st, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A) Narragansett. Burial with military honors will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Narragansett Senior Center, 53 Mumford Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882, or to the South Kingstown Senior Center, 25 St Dominic Rd, Wakefield, RI 02879.
