Vanessa Lyn Smith-McCarthy

40, of Cranston passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of Bryan G. McCarthy for six years.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Wayne C. and Donna (Paolantonio) Smith of Johnston.

Vanessa was part of the first female hockey team at Mt. St. Charles Academy and received the first penalty.  She was very artistic and enjoyed crafting and painting.  She had an infectious laugh and beautiful smile that would brighten everyone’s day.

Besides her husband and parents, she leaves her brother, Dallas R. Smith and his wife Nicole of Johnston, and her nephews and niece, Jamison Knox, Lincoln Smith and Arabella Smith.

VISITING HOURS Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 4-7pm followed by a funeral service at 7pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the RI SPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915.
