Thomas J. Valletta, Sr., 92, of West Warwick, passed away March 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie B. (D’Abrosca) Valletta, they were married for sixty-three years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Carrie (Patalano) Valletta.
He was a US Marine Corps Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Marines Corps Band.
Mr. Valletta was a supervisor for Federal Products before retiring.
Tom played the saxophone and clarinet for many years in his family band The Tunesters and The End Result. He enjoyed woodworking.
An active communicant of St. Joseph Church, he served as a lector.
He leaves two loving children, Janice A. Ribeiro and her husband Glenn of Cranston and Thomas J. Valletta, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Coventry; five cherished grandchildren, Dale (Rochelle), Seth (Layla), Jena (Neil), Thomas J., III and Caitlyn; and a great-granddaughter, Capri Russo. He was the brother of the late Cynthia Rison, Anna Simpson, Virginia Malloy, John and William Valletta.
His funeral will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Thursday from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart & Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
