It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Thomas Paul Ricci on November 24, 2023 at this home. He was the beloved husband of Marie E. (Proulx) Ricci for sixty-three years. Mr. Ricci resided in East Greenwich, RI and Jupiter, FL.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Domenic and Clara (Ronzio) Ricci.
He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. Mr. Ricci was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War.
Tom started a small auto body shop in 1969, Barbers Auto Body in West Warwick and went on to own two Nissan dealerships in MA, Action Nissan and Dartmouth Nissan. He then went on to add Viking Nissan of East Providence and later Norwood Motor Group Chevy, Toyota, Nissan and Kia in Warwick.
He was a member of the Italo-American Club, the Aurora Civic Association and South County Rod & Gun Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating on his boat the Nina Marie, fishing in the Point Judith Tuna Tournament and Galilee Tuna Club; and hunting in Wyoming and Montana.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Nina Ricci of East Greenwich and Marie Ricci-Saraiva and her husband Carlos A. Saraiva of Jamestown; and two grandsons, David T. Igliozzi and his wife Carol Fortin of Chicago, IL and Alexander V. Igliozzi of Charlotte, NC. He was the brother of the late Evelyn Picozzi.
His services were privately held on December 1, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
