Thomas Joseph Reilly

72, of Narragansett, RI passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of James and Evelyn (Kavanagh) Reilly. Tom was a 1969 graduate of LaSalle Academy and went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America in 1971. After meeting his wife Barbara (Stauff), who passed away in 2014, and getting married in 1973, the two began their life together in Providence and for the last 40 years Narragansett. They had two sons, Thomas Jr. who married Nicole (Webber) and lives in Scituate, RI with their children Cooper and Ellie, and Kevin who married Ashley (Peterson) and lives in East Greenwich with their children Cora, Quinn, and Aidan. Tom adored his grandchildren, lived for time on his boat, and loved sitting in a beach chair at Bonnet Shores. He was the Deputy Director of Food Services at the University of Rhode Island until his retirement in 2002. Tom also served 20 years in the RI Air National Guard. He was a past president of the Narragansett Lions Club, the Mettatuxet Yacht Club, and chairman of the Narragansett School Committee. Tom was the third of nine children: Janice Mackie of Providence; Jim Reilly of Narragansett; Dan Reilly of Providence; Tim Reilly of Florida; Kathy Clarkin of Barrington; Kevin Reilly of Cumberland; Terry Donahue of North Kingstown; and Shawn Reilly of Florida.

His funeral will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 8:45am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett.  Burial will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Thursday 4-7pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the RI Ovarian Cancer Alliance, an organization close to Tom's heart after Barbara's diagnosis.
