Thomas J. Petrone

age 93, passed away from Covid on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was born in Providence and was the son of the late Alfred, Sr. and Blanche Petrone and brother of the late Alfred, Jr. and Edward Petrone.  He was married to the late Ivy Petrone from 1947 – 1993.  He is now survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Linda Cardillo.  He was the father of Karen Trouve of Cranston, Steven Petrone of Lutz, FL, the late Paul Petrone of Foster, Diane Petrone of Johnston and Doreen Paliotta of Cranston.  Tom was the grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandchild.

Tom was a charter member of the Silver Lake Lions Club, and a Veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was a chef for many years and worked in both nursing homes and restaurants. He was also a skilled carpenter and entrepreneur with diverse ventures.

Tom and Linda were on a bowling league, and they looked forward to bowling weekly.  Family was especially important to Tom and he loved family gatherings.  Other interests of Tom were gardening, his cats, going out to eat with his friends, socializing, cooking, and dancing, which he did even up to the end.

Tom was a thoughtful and kind man … a gentle soul, always smiling and fun to be around.  He had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest.   He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
