THOMAS ROBERT KIRWIN

THOMAS ROBERT KIRWIN

of Chestnut Ave., Cranston, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence.  Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Walter G. and Alice M. (Watson) Kirwin.

Mr. Kirwin served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and later in the U.S. Coast Guard.  He worked for the City of Providence Department of Public Works and later for the State of RI Narragansett Bay Commission before retiring.

He was the father of Leo Kirwin, Cynthia Lucas and Karen Lucas, all of Cranston, Paula Grimes and Robert Nystrom, both of Warwick, David Hale of Cranston and the late Thomas Kirwin. He also leaves numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and was predeceased by eight siblings.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by burial with military honors at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
