THOMAS J. HUGHES, 91, of Cranston, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre, Cranston. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Guarino) Hughes.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Parsley) Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was the Building Commissioner for the City of Boston for many years before retiring. He was a WW-II Navy Veteran and a former member of the American Legion and Cranston Lodge of Elk's.
He is survived by his daughter, Dorothy MacDougall of Cranston; four grandchildren, Gia, John, Dan and Craig; and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Thomas W. Hughes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church, Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston, followed by interment with Military Honors at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
