THOMAS W. BENGAFF

87, a lifelong Cranston resident, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011. He was the husband of the late Melba J. (Del Gigante) Bengaff. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas and Alice (Malloy) Bengaff. Tom was a bartender for over fifty years. During his career he was employed at Ballards of Block Island, Vincent's, Anthony's and Junior's Restaurants on Federal Hill, Gaslight Restaurant in Providence, Sirlion Pit, and the T.F. Green Airport Lounge in Warwick. He was also employed at the former May Dell Jewelry in Providence and drove shuttle for Airport Taxi and Limousine for several years before retiring due to illness. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WW II on the USS Franklin. Tom was a Purple Heart recipient and a member of the VFW. Recently he went to Fort Myers to enjoy his final time there.

He is survived by his son Thomas A. Bengaff of Cranston. Tom was the step-brother of Robert Kenehan, Capt. RI State Police, Ret. of Westerly and the brother-in-law of Marie Moretti of Cranston, and the late Everett Moretti. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mark, 9 Garden Court, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 p.m.
