THERESA L. (TURCONE) DeMATTEIS

THERESA L. (TURCONE) DeMATTEIS, 95, of Hope St., North Providence, passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 in the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center at Home & Hospice Care of RI in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry DeMatteis. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Fortuna (Mangiacapra) Turcone.

Mrs. DeMatteis worked at the former Universal Optical in Providence and in East Providence for over 50 years before retiring. She was a parishioner of St. Augustine Church and a member at the North Providence Senior Center.

She was the devoted mother of Edward V. DeMatteis and his wife Faith of Warwick and Henry DeMatteis, Jr. and his wife Diane of Cranston; loving grandmother of Robin Sampson and her husband Edward, Marisa DeMatteis and Henry DeMatteis, III; loving great-grandmother of Elena Sampson; and dear sister of Assunta "Sue" DeMatteis of Warwick and the late Edith "Ida" DiFruscio, Michael Turcone and Philip Turcone.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
