78, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, June 14, 2010 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. Ethel was the loving wife of fifty-three years of Charles A. Pappas. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Nikolas and Panayiota (Bell) Ravanes. Mrs. Pappas worked in retail at the former Peerless Dept. Store years ago. She also worked as a teacher's aide at the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center of twenty years prior to her retirement. Ethel was also a receptionist at South County Podiatry, Inc. She had many outstanding talents and hobbies. Ethel excelled at sewing, gourmet cooking, oil painting, knitting, cake decorating, gardening and upholstering. Mrs. Pappas was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she was a member of the choir for over fifty years. Besides her husband she is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Eleni Pappas Zervos and her husband Dr. John Zervos of Narragansett. Ethel was the beloved grandmother "yiayia" of Nicole, Arianna and Gregory Zervos. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and may call at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
